Web Hosting Uptime

|
When you come out and search for hosting company for your site, you will see that what offers you are getting from the host for launching your site on his server. Surely they will offer you space, bandwidth and hosting uptime. Most of the web hosting companies encourages their services by offering uptime assurance.

If you are like me on a shared hosting server chances are your web hosting account has cPanel or some other administration panel through which you can create/delete MySQL databases (DBs)/DB users. But you will not be able to:

The Web site hosting business has become more competitive in recent years. If you can find a better hosting deal, you may be able to save money by switching hosting providers. But what's the best way to move your Web site? What if you have a virtual private server (VPS) hosting several domains? What about PHP and your SQL data? The thought of moving may be daunting, but moving servers is not difficult if you plan properly. Here's how.

Downtime can disrupt your business, customers, and damage your company's reputation. But how do you prevent or minimize downtime? Can a server monitoring service help? To answer these questions, first we need to understand the causes of downtime. Downtime can be broken down into three distinct categories

It's been two years since John started his online business. He is very much
satisfied with his current web host whose services he acquired one year ago.
Today John is relaxing in his chair and thinking about the initial days when he
spent many hours on the Internet collecting information related to web hosting.
Like him there are many John's out there who are in search of information
everyday, visiting this and that website hoping to find the most illuminating
advice.

Bandwidth is the amount of data transfer that you are allowed to have for a
hosting package i.e. Let's say you have a web page that is 48KB in size, now
each time a user opens your site and goes to that page S/he downloads 48 KB of
information on to their computer. If a 100 users view that page one time each
then there has been a total of 4800 KB of data transferred from the server on
which your files are stored for the computer of users.

Sometimes we just have to move on. Your current mail server may just not be meeting your needs, so you've put up something new. But what about old mail? If your servers are identical (Sendmail to Sendmail, etc.) or use the same mailbox storage format, you may be able to just transfer files directly. If not, read on..

John's online business is expanding. His customers are increasing day by day. However, he feels very frustrated at the moment as he finds his website is 'down' about every 4th day. Whenever he calls up the support team of his web host, he gets the same old answer that his problem will be rectified soon. If the problems do persist it will surely hamper his business. He has been with his present hosting provider for the last year but now he feels he has to find a new web host as soon as possible because his present hosting package is also not able to meet up with his growing demands.

Every Web host provides you with one, and if you do a lot of work on your Web site it could be something you curse or something you get to adore every single day. A control panel is like the brain behind your Web site's body. It gives you one place to look at to do everything you would ever need to do to your Web hosting account. You can create E-mail accounts, create FTP accounts, track statistical information and so much more.
